If rumors are to be believed, Samsung will be making the Galaxy J5 (2017) official today. The impending release has however not stopped the device from being listed on e-commerce sites, accepting pre-orders before the launch.
It was noted leakster Roland Quandt who speculated that Samsung will be launching the J5 on June 5. Last week, the device’s Black and Gold color variants were listed on Amazon France website, with the price showing 279 Euro.
Though the page on Amazon appears to have been taken down, a number of leaks earlier provided a good glimpse of the features as well as the design of the phone.
Going by the FCC certification that was spotted in April, the device will be powered by Exynos 7870 1.5 GHz octa-core processor, ARM Mali-T830 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
The metal-clad phone sports a 5.2-inch display with 120x720p resolution. There will be two 13MP front and rear cameras. The primary camera comes with a larger f/1.7 aperture and LED flash. There should be a 16GB expandable storage as well.
For power, the J5 (2017) will be equipped with a 2,600 mAh battery. And if reports are to be believed, this will be the first J series phone to include a fingerprint scanner. It could even include NFC support and Samsung Pay as well.
The device is expected to come in four color options – gold, black, pink, and blue.
