Samsung has introduced a new curved monitor for professional gamers.
The CFG70 comes in both 24-inch and 27-inch models and shows vivid colors across the 125 percent sRGB spectrum, rendering a a 3,000:1 contrast ratio.
The displays were first shown off at the Gamescom 2016 and IFA 2016. It is unique in a way that this is the market’s first curved gaming monitor to feature quantum dot technology.
“With the introduction of quantum dot technology to our pioneering curved monitors, Samsung offers a look into the future of gaming, along with a level of picture quality like the industry has never seen before,” said Seog-gi Kim, Senior Vice President, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
The CFG70 features a 1,800R curvature and a 178-degree ultra-wide viewing angle. It also is equipped with a sound-interactive LED lighting to create a lifelike presentation.
Additionally, the advanced motion blur reduction technology along with the displays VA panel produce a 1 ms moving picture response time (MPRT). And the AMD FreeSync Technology seamlessly synchronizes the screen’s 144 Hz refresh rate with users’ AMD graphics cards.
Samsung said the CFG70 monitor is checked for compatibility with FPS, RTS, RPG and AOS genres, undergoing rigorous pre-shipment factory calibration. This also prevents poor contrast ratios and black gamma levels.
And for game management, the curved monitor has a range of user-friendly gaming UX, including a dedicated gaming interface with an intuitive settings dashboard. To adjust gameplay settings, it has hotkeys on the front and back of the display.
Samsung is yet to announce the price and availability.
