If you recall the Redmi Pro introduced by Xiaomi last year. The company’s upgrade to the device is now rumored to launch in the coming weeks.
We don’t have a specific date, but the Redmi Pro 2 will launch before the hotly anticipated Mi 6. Nothing official has been announced as yet with regard to the features or release date.
For those who can’t wait to get their hands on one, here are the rumored features to expect on the Redmi Pro 2. It will be a 5.5-inch AMOLED display phone sporting an all metal build with 2.5D curved glass on top.
As for processor, there are contradicting reports, with some stating it will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. Few others are speculating a MediaTek Helio P25.
There will be two RAM and storage variants – 4GB RAM/6GB RAM and 64GB storage/128GB storage. It will further be armed with a 4,500 mAh battery and will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
As for camera, you don’t have a dual camera set up like the predecessor. Xiaomi is favoring a single 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor at the rear. The base variant is rumored to cost CNY 1599 ($231) in China.
When the Redmi Pro was launched last year, it costed CNY 1499 (with Helio X20 chipset) for the base model. It sported a 5.5-inch full HD OLED 2.5D curved display and was equipped with a 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor coupled with a 5MP Samsung sensor. The dual tone flash module sits between the two lenses.
The hardware also included a 3GB RAM/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB storage. It had a 4,000mAh non removable battery with fast charging support. The device came with an IR blaster and a fingerprint scanner at the front.
