Origin PC has just updated its EVO15-S and NT-15 laptops for better performance and power. The improvements are kept mostly internal, which are meant for enthusiastic gaming as well as workstation purposes. One of the most notable changes made to the systems are in the GPUs.
Both the laptops are fitted seventh-generation Intel CPUs with graphics backed by NVIDIA and the newly released USB 3.1 Gen2 which is capable of transferring rates up to 10 Gigabits per second. Both laptops target different kinds of users and have been made specifically for those users’ needs. The EVO15-S is made for gamers while the NT-15 is made for professionals who want a workstation that is also thin and light-weight with the appropriate hardware found inside.
Origin EVO15-S
This laptop will feature up to Intel’s Core i7-7700HQ processor and NVIDIA’s 1070 GPU with Max-Q technology. This is a major jump from the model’s earlier iteration, which featured a GTX 1050Ti. It will come with fast transfer USB 3.1 Gen2 technology with 2 USB ports which are USB Type-C as well as three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports with Type-A connectors. With Max-Q, laptops will be able to run powerful GPUs without having to sacrifice space and cooling in order to increase performance. This means that the laptop is far thinner than its regular competition who do not feature Max-Q technology. The laptop’s screen also features 4K resolution with IPS. Data storage is handled with PCIe-based storage that is fast in read and write speeds as well.
Origin NT-15 Quadro
This particular model is meant to serve as a thin and light workstation for intensive applications. It will retain the same Intel Core i7-7700HQ chip. Instead of using NVIDIA’s 10-series GPU chips, Origin has gone ahead and installed the professional Quadro variants, offering options for either a P3000 and P4000 GPU, which also use Max-Q technology. Compared to its predecessor, the new NT-15 is the same size but is now more powerful and better handling tasks. The port configuration on the system is also the same one seen on the EVO15-S, but instead of two USB Type-C ports, there is only one.
Pricing
Origin claims that these two laptops are the most powerful that the company has made. The two systems are also priced quite competitively. The EVO15-S with the GTX 1070 will retail for $1,792, while the GTX 1060 variant will cost just $1,609, which is a much more affordable option for a gaming system, especially when the same set of specifications retail for over $2,000 from competitors. The N-15 Quadro’s P3000 variant will cost $3,073 and the P4000 variant will cost $3,885.
