Oppp R11 confirmed to arrive on June 10, with dual camera and Snapdragon 660

Oppo has been making some waves online in recent weeks thanks to various leaks and rumors surrounding the camera. Not only has the phone’s optics and screen been highly spoken about, but now the phone has received official confirmation by the company itself and should be out on June 10.

The Oppo R11 will first be made available for Chinese market

The phone, which will be out later in the week, will come in three colors – Gold, Rose Gold and Black. For now, the phone is also only set to release in China and as is the case with regular phones from the Chinese market, the global variants should be released in the following weeks. There were rumors of a bigger R11 Plus, but that possibility seems to have been omitted by the company as of now. The R11, on the other hand, has a host of features that will make the phone quite appealing to newer buyers.

Among the list of features, include a 5.5-inch AMOLED 1080p screen with Android Nougat 7.1 out of the box and with Color OS layered over. There is also the highly anticipated dual camera setup on the back of the phone that consists of one 20MP sensor and one 16MP sensor. The image processing is done by Qualcomm’s Spectra ISP and the real-world results are yet to be tested, but the phone promises picture-perfect photos and loss-less optical zoom up to x2. Not only are the rear cameras well-endowed, but so is the front-facing camera, which is a 20MP snapper.

Oppo had also released a teaser poster of the phone which supposedly showcased its charging capabilities, using the phone’s VOOC Super Flash Charge technology. The feature is a proprietary component made by Oppo, similar to OnePlus’s Dash charge technology. Oppo claims that through this technology, a phone battery can be charged from 0 to 100 in just 15 minutes, for just a 2,500mAh battery. For a 3,000mAh battery which is in the R11, it might take about a little more time. However, the company did mention that the phone would be able to provide two hours of talk time for just five minutes of charge before the battery eventually dies. A fingerprint scanner is also present on the device at the bottom of the screen and the entire phone is said to be made out of metal.

The phone will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor which is an octa-core unit. On the inside, the phone is expected to come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. All this information is known, thanks to a leak from a GeekBench score of the phone which indicated its performance. There is still speculation that Oppo might release a bigger 6-inch variant of the R11 but that will only be confirmed once June 10 arrives.
