While the Oppo R11 and the R11 Plus were recently only certified by TENAA, the official date of the phones’ release has been revealed, thanks to a leaked poster.
The Oppo R11 will be revealed on June 10 and while the poster did not mention anything about the R11 Plus, it can be assumed that Oppo will launch both the phones on that day, together. Based on earlier rumors, the phones will be released with Snapdragon 660 processors which are octa-core chipsets and have a performance grade similar to the Snapdragon 820, along with the graphical capabilities, so these phones should be extremely well-endowed devices when they come out.
Reports state the Oppo R11 will feature a 16MP + 20MP rear-camera setup as well as a 20MP front-facing camera. The R11 will also feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 4GB of RAM and a 2,900mAh battery. The R11 Plus will differ in battery and screen size, offering a 6-inch screen and a 3,880mAh battery. RAM is also boosted to a 6GB configuration. The leak poster indicates that the phone will come in three colors, including a black, gold and pink shade.
The Android Soul mentions that the phones’ cameras will produce high quality images, which are testament to Oppo’s reputation of having some of the best cameras on their devices. This time around, Oppo has worked on providing better focus and blur quality in images. The devices will also feature a learning algorithm that will enhance the image quality of the dual cameras that it houses. Some reports suggest that the screens on the phones will be AMOLED screens, but that has not been confirmed yet, since both models vary slightly in battery and how the screen orientation remains will be a matter of battery-life since AMOLED displays are more battery-efficient. The R11 may feature one, but the R11 Plus may only come with a standard IPS display.
While both phones will come with at least 64GB of internal storage, it is unclear whether there will be larger capacities available or whether they will support expandable storage. If Oppo gets the pricing right, this could be one of the best mid-rangers of the year, and even compete well, with the likes of the Moto G. It is not very often that mid-rangers and entry-level handsets are provided a “USP” per say, but in Oppo’s case, the focus on optics this time around shows that good cameras can be found on non-flagship phones.
