While there have been indications that Oppo will be releasing two variants of the R11 – the standard Oppo R11 and the R11 Plus. Now there is confirmation regarding the new models as the handsets have been certified by TENAA, who have provided photos and other specifications of the product.
Both variants will share almost the same specs – the Snapdragon 660 SoC with dual-cameras on the back. The cameras will be the main USP of the devices featuring a 16MP + 20MP configuration. Using Qualcomm’s own technology as well, the cameras will allow for 2x optical zoom. More impressively, the company have fitted a 20MP front-facing camera on the phone.
Perhaps the only differences between the two variants are in their screen sizes, with the R11 featuring a 5.5-inch AMOLED display while the R11 Plus is going to feature a 6-inch LCD display. Both screens will have 1080p resolution.
The R11 Plus will have 6GB of RAM with a beefier battery at 3880mAh and the R11 will have a 4GB RAM and a 2900mAh battery unit. Considering the Snapdragon 660 processors, they are believed to conjure a performance that is on par with the Snapdragon 821 and 820 processors. They are octa-core chipsets which also feature a pretty capable GPU. Considering that the R11 variants feature mid-range CPUs, the performance gains are at level to flagship specs.
The company has received much anticipation for the release of the R11 and have also released a few promotional posters along with an ad for the phones as well to accentuate the camera’s performance. The phone will have a physical home button that is likely to also act as the phone’s fingerprint sensor. The phone also boasts of narrow bezels and will be available in three different color options for the Plus variant – Gold Rose, Gold and Black. The standard variant will come in the colors of Gold, Silver and Black. Of course, on the connectivity side, the phones will feature 4G LTE with VoLTE along with Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy.
Everything regarding the phones has been revealed except for when they will be releasing and where they will be available. Since the phones have been certified by TENAA now, it doesn’t seem like it will be too long before we see the new Oppo R11 and R11 Plus hit the shelves.
