Oppo is no stranger to making high-performing camera-centric smartphones and it is continuing its running trend of producing such devices with the addition of a new one – the Oppo F5. The new device offers a modern design which belongs in the 2017 bracket and impressive specifications to rival some of the more established cameras we have seen on smartphones till date.
The next big feature that Oppo has been advertising is the AI Beauty Recognition technology that has been in development in conjunction with various professional photographers to capture the perfect selfie. This is done via the massive 20MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. The AI can apparently track the user’s skin tone, gender and age and make enhancements accordingly to make the photo look its best. At the back, the phone has a 16MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. There is no front-facing LED flash on the phone this time around, but considering the decently sized aperture and the 20MP sensor, it should be enough to soak in surrounding light.
On the inside, the phone comes with 4GB of RAM while there is also a 6GB variant optionally available as well. The phone is powered by a 3,200mAh battery with Continuous Optimization tech, which enables the phone to run at 12 hours of continuous use on a full charge, subject to real world usage. The phone will also feature the MediaTekHelio P23 processor with 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.
Reports state the phone will run Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box and also has its own face unlock feature like the Note 8 and the iPhone X. The dual-SIM capable phone currently will be sold for a little over $300 and will be available in South Asian nations such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam. The phone will also have a release in Russia as well.
