OnePlus 5 rumors: Snapdragon 835 SoC, 8GB RAM and dual camera set up

OnePlus 3T was a phenomenal phone that packed a premium build. The successor OnePlus 5 is now to come with top of the line specs. Rumors on the purported specs have been making rounds online.

OnePlus 5 will succeed OnePlus 3T that was launched last year

The OnePlus 5 will be a power device with a massive 8GB RAM. According to a PCPop report, the device will also include Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 along with the Adreno 540 GPU.

On the design front, it will sport a fresh look with reduced bezels, closely resembling the Galaxy S9 and LG G6. The display should be a QuadHD screen with 1440x2560p resolution.

That is not all, fans can also look forward for a dual camera set up. The details on the optics are not available as yet. One report however said a 23MP dual lens rear camera with optical image stabilization and optical zoom is in the works.

The Android device will reportedly launch in the second half of the year. Interestingly, OnePlus will skip the OnePlus 4 name and go straight to OnePlus 5, reason attributed to four being bad luck in China. Well all these are just speculations for now, in the coming weeks we will have more to report.

When OnePlus 3T launched last year, it was priced at $439 and sported a 5.5-inch AMOLED 1920×1080 display, along with Snapdragon 821 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage. The device was powered by a 3,400 mAh battery.
