For several weeks rumor mills were busy speculating the release of Galaxy A (2017) series of smartphones. We have an official word from Samsung now.
The Korean electronics giant has sent media invites for the launch of its much-awaited Android phone. The event will be held on January 5, 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Here is what the invite reads – “This new year ring in a new wave of adventures and accomplishments to look forward to. Whether you live life on the edge or bask in spontaneous moments, embrace it and Live Unplanned”.
“What better way to start the new year afresh with an A-list atmosphere? Join us as we reveal the all-new Samsung Galaxy A Series (2017),” it adds.
Posted on social media, the invite carried an image of water, indicating the water resistant build.
For those who can’t wait to get an official update on the specs, here is a roundup of what the rumors have led us to believe.
The Galaxy A7 (2017) smartphone is expected to feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display and will be powered by Samsung’s octa-core Exynos 7880 processor.
Also included is a 3GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB inbuilt storage, which is expandable. On the camera front, it could be equipped with a 16MP front camera and 16MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture.
The water and dust resistant device will be backed by a 3,500 mAh battery with fast charging support. It may come in color versions of black, gold, pink, and blue.
The A series will include the Galaxy A7 (2017), The Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A3 (2017). All three should feature unique screen sizes.
On the Galaxy A5 (2017), you could sport a 5.2-inch display, octa-core Exynos 7880 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. It should be equipped with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 3,300 mAh battery.
The smallest of all will be the Galaxy A3 (2017) which will pack a 4.7-inch display, an octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 8GB storage. To be backed by a 3,000 mAh battery, the device will also include a 12MP camera on back and 7MP shooter for selfies.
