Chinese smartphone maker ZTE is rumored to launch a Nubia device the coming week. The Z17 Mini was thought to launch alongside the Nubia M2 and N2 that was introduced on March 21. However, that did not come to pass.
The latest is that Nubia Z17 Mini would launch on April 6. The company has reportedly sent media invites for the unveiling of the device. There should also be announcement on the price and shipment of the device.
Earlier, there were reports of the device being spotted on the TENAA database. A Nubia device with model number “NX569J” was listed on the platform. Some of the key specs were revealed through the listing, not all though.
The Z17 Mini will be a 5.2-inch 1080p display phone that could run on older Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Weighing 160 grams, the device is expected to be powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core processor, with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
There will be two color choices – Silver and Gold. Additionally, there should be a dual rear camera and fingerprint sensor on the back. Power will be drawn by a 2,930 mAh battery.
The upcoming launch followers three new Nubia devices that ZTE launched last week. The Nubia M2 and Nubia N2 appears to run on Android 6.0, while the Nubia M2 Lite has Android 7.0 Nougat as operating system.
On the M2, you have a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB torage. It also has a decent 3,60 mAh battery and dual 13MP camera and 16MP selfie camera.
The M2 Lite is a toned down version, with no dual camera set up, sports 5.5-inch 720p IPS touchscreen and MediaTek’s Helio P10 processor. For power, there is a 3,000 mAh battery.
The N2 on the other hand has a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The battery is a massive 5,000 mAh capacity. The M2 has a price tag of CNY 2,699 ($391), while the M2 Lite sells for CNY 1,799 ($260) and Nubia N2 for CNY 1,999 ($289).
