Chinese smartphone maker Nubia has introduced a camera-centric smartphone in India dubbed the Nubia N1 Lite. The Android device will retail exclusively on Amazon India for a price of Rs 6,999 ($109).
The Nubia N1 Lite is a toned down version of the Nubia N1 that launched last year. Besides India, the device will also hit other Asian markets and key European markets, including Germany, Spain and Italy.
Before delving into the core features, it is important to recognize that this is an entry level gadget but with impressive sensors for pictures. “We are known for our camera technology across the globe and with N1 Lite we are offering category first front soft light flash and fingerprint scanner,” Nubia India head Eric Hu said during the unveiling.
Core specs and features
The device weighs 171g and comes in two flavors – Black and Gold. To start with the camera, you have an 8MP sensor with 4P precision optical lens on back, offering F2.0 aperture. The LED flash is made available for low-light pictures. For selfies, you have a 5MP sensor on front with soft-light flash support and camera beauty filter.
For the display, you have a 5.5-inch HD screen with 2.5D glass on top. Nubia N1 Lite is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor, paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (expandable up to 32GB). Power is drawn by a non-removable 3000 mAh battery that delivers 24 hours of talk time.
On the design front, the Nubia N1 Lite features a sleek body with metal edges. For security, it offers a fingerprint scanner at the back of the device. Nubia N1 Lite runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
Asus ZenFone Live is an alternative
While clearly it is a decent deal for budget-conscious consumers, for those who can wait a little longer there is another Android device that will launch in less than two days. The Asus ZenFone Live will launch in India on May 24 with a 5-inch IPS display and Snapdragon 410 processor.
The ZenFone Live will include a 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage and 2,650 mAh battery. Camera enthusiasts will also appreciate the 13MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture 5P lens and 5MP frontshooter.
