Now enable Pixel’s fingerprint gestures on any device with this new app

A new app now allows you to replicate Google Pixel’s fingerprint gestures on your Android phone. The Fingerprint Gestures app can be installed on any device that supports fingerprint scanner. It is available on the Google Play store.

A product of SupeThomasLab, the app allows you to use gestures like single tap, double tap, or fast tap (swipe) to control your phone or tablet. Besides the device having a fingerprint sensor, you also need one that runs on 6.0 Marshmallow.

One of the great new features of Google’s Pixel phones is the fingerprint gestures. Users can swipe down on the sensor on the back of the phone to see the notification shade come down. With Fingerprint Gestures app, you can swipe down on sensor to check your notifications. You can even tap on fingerprint sensor and scroll through an app of your choice.

Available actions include icon touch panel, back, home, recent apps, sleep, scroll down, scroll up, open notifications panel, toggle notifications panel and open quick settings, to name a few.

Earlier, the XDA Developers forums created an APK which brought the functionality to any phone with a fingerprint scanner. However, the app was not made official. The Fingerprint Quick Action app, which was created by developer ztc1997, required root permissions for activating certain features.

If you have tried the Fingerprint Quick Action, you might want to explore a more safer app with similar functionalities. The Fingerprint Gestures app can be downloaded on Google Play store.
