The OnePlus 5 launch could not come any sooner as new teasers showcase what the new OnePlus flagship will be capable of doing. In the latest announcement by the company, hints of customizations will be making an appearance on the device.
The announcement came from OnePlus via tweet on their official Twitter account, providing very subtle hints as to what users can expect to see from OnePlus 5’s UI. There are originally two posts that suggest user customization on the device. The first post form the company account was an image with someone standing in the centre of the frame with the number ‘6’ displayed prominently at the centre as well. There is a caption accompanying the picture, saying “Software designed with style and refinement”.
This is one clue that mentions how we can look forward to significant changes in the software experience. There could be a new theme engine in the works by the looks of what OxygenOS might have in store for when the phone finally does come out. In fact, there are numerous sections of the background that show different design schemes, showcasing that these could be some of the themes we could expect in the phone built in. This will good, as currently, the OxygenOS launcher allows accents and icons to be changed throughout the system UI. Being already one of the very few stock launchers with the feature, it will be exciting to see what OnePlus can add to this. There is a monochrome section that can be found in the image as well, that could possibly indicate the monochrome camera that is also part of the camera module at the back of the phone.
Android Headlines deciphers the second teaser from the OnePlus company that is a short video, showcasing the abilities of the phone in adjusting the temperature of the screen for better viewing and reading. The video shows the interface of an eBook reader with a setting on the side that manually adjusts the colour temperature as the pages scroll. Whether this feature will be an automatic feature or a manual one that has to be set by the users, it is unclear as of now but the option was already present on other OnePlus devices, even the OnePlus 2. So, it seems unclear as to what extent that the company is going to innovatively present this feature to the masses.
With the smartphone being released within just a week, the anticipation is growing and OnePlus is using the most out of the hype to tease buyers. Now that buyers know what the phone looks like, they will be curious to see what is shown on the screen.
