New Asus device with 5.5-inch display, dual camera setup spotted on GFXBench

There is a new Asus smartphone in the pipeline. The unannounced device was spotted on popular benchmarking site GFXBench. According to the listing, the upcoming device bears the model number Asus XOOID. It also listed some of the core specs to feature on the device.

Going by the hardware seen on the Asus XOOID, we can assume it to be a mid-range device. Unlike some of the recent launches, this one won’t having an aging Android OS. It will in fact run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

The screen will be of 5.5-inch display with 1280x720p resolution. It will be powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm octa-core processor with Adreno 505 GPU. The processor is paired with a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

The optics department will cheer the Asus fans out there. The device will be equipped with a dual camera setup on the back with 13MP and 5MP sensors with autofocus, face detection, HDR photo and LED flash.

On the front, you have an 8MP sensor for selfies. The listing also reveals other sensors and connectivity options. The sensors will consist of accelerometer, gyroscope, light sensor and proximity sensor.

Soon more details on the device should emerge. We should also have the official name for the device introduced through leaks or official channels.

Meanwhile, Asus is preparing the launch of Zenfone Zoom S on May 16. The device is a variant of the Zenfone 3 Zoom and sports a 5.2-inch display and boasts a dual rear camera set up with 12MP Sony IMX362 sensors. There is also a 13MP frontshooter.

Zenfone Zoom S will be powered by a Snapdragon 625 chipset and will launch in three storage variants – 32GB, 64B and 128GB. IT ill run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
