Moto E3 Power hitting Indian shores on Sept. 19; Features to expect

The most successful budget phone from Motorola is seeing a third iteration release next week and Motorola is promising that this version will be a lot more powerful than its predecessors.

The Moto E3 Power was announced last month. It features a 5-inch HD IPS display, powered by a 1GHz quad-core processor.

The Moto E3 Power was announced last month. It features a 5-inch HD IPS display, powered by a 1GHz quad-core processor.

The Motorola Moto E3 Power is expected to be powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6735P chipset, hopefully energy efficient and better than MediaTek’s last generation of chipsets. Motorola has religiously been using Snapdragon chipsets up until now, but the fact that it is now going the MediaTek route may be owing to the fact that Motorola is thinking about cutting costs.

The chipset will clock in at 1 GHz, which is slightly a little lower than its previous models. But we’ll let the real-time performance speak for itself. Just like always, the E3 will stick to the modest 720p resolution touchscreen display, at 5 inches. It’ll come with a good 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage space that can be expanded to 128 GB. The biggest feature here and probably the reason behind the ‘Power’ tag is the battery. The device packs a good 3,500mAh.

The camera will receive an update as well, being an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. All these features will come together beautifully with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and hopefully should get the Nougat update soon enough. The cost of the phone should be no more than Rs 9,500 ($140). It is a great price for all the features it has. And with the Moto E pedigree, it will retain its sturdiness and reliability.

The dual-SIM phone will come equipped with 4G LTE connectivity. The phone will hit store shelves on September 19 and should give the competition a run for their money.
