MIJIA, Xiaomi’s arm for its smart home products, has launched a new electric bike with aircraft-grade aluminium alloy body and a portable folding design.
The Mi Electric Scooter has been listed on the MIJIA crowdfunding platform in China with a price tag of CNY 1999 ($290). To be available from December 15, the scooter boasts top speed of 25 kmph and comes with LG 1850 EV-lithium ion battery (capacity of 280 Wh).
Weighing about 12.5kg, the electric scooter can be foldable at the press of a button and can be stored or carried easily. It further has a dual-brake system – front wheel uses E-ABS anti-lock system and the rear wheel has a mechanical disk brake.
Xiaomi says its new portable scooter is equipped with a technology that converts kinetic energy into electric energy.
Now this is what makes it a truly smart vehicle. You can connect the electric scooter with your smartphone via Bluetooth. And with a finger tap, you can track cycling habits, riding speed and even battery life.
In recent times, we have seen Xiaomi bring out an array of products for a variety of consumers. Be it business or residential, Xiaomi has something innovative with the best technology can offer. In the commuter tool segment too Xiaomi has had a few launches earlier. In June, it launched the Qicycle electric bike. Prior to it there was the self-balancing scooter called Ninebot Mini.
