For several weeks we have been fed with leaks on Meizu M5 Note. Soon you can confirm the specs. The Chinese smartphone maker has released a media invite that confirms the launch on November 30.
The invite does not mention the name. It only hints at a device with Helio chipset. “Make Helio Great Again” goes the text on the invite. No doubt this is the much-awaited M5 Note.
Last week, the visuals of the device leaked on Weibo, showing a metal body and the sensors on the back. Providing much insight on the specs was a listing spotted on benchmarking websites Geekbench and AnTuTu.
The listing confirms the name as Meizu M5 Note, running on Android 6.0. Powered by Mediatek’s Helio P10 SoC, the device will sport a 1080p display. The hardware also includes a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. On the camera front, you have a 13MP rear camera and 5MP shooter in the front. The M5 Note will be a bigger sibling of the recently launched Meizu M5. The device featured a 5.2-inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass on top.
The smartphone came in two variants based on storage – 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM and 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM. The basic retailed at CNY 699 ($101). Under the hood, it was powered by 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor. The cameras consisted of a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and PDAF, and front camera with 5MP.
Connectivity options included WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS/ A-GPS. The phone was backed by a 3,070mAh battery.
