It was only until recently that the Meizu Pro 7 had received its certification from China’s 3C certification agency. Now a new leak of the phone’s most impressive feature that could potentially be a game changer in the smartphone world.
According to reports, the smartphone will feature a unique E-Ink display on the back of the phone that will be situated below the dual-camera setup of the phone. The image is proof that the renders of the phone in earlier stages was in fact true, which also showed the phone coming with an E-Ink display. While other phones place their secondary displays on the front, as seen with LG and HTC, Meizu have opted to instead go for an E-Ink display that will be seen on the back of the phone. The display will feature the time, weather information, and shortcuts to regularly used apps such as the camera and the dialer.
The phone will feature a 5.2-inch AMOLED screen with either a QHD or FHD resolution. There are rumors that mention the phone may feature a bigger display that could go all the way up to 5.7-inches as well. At this point it is not yet confirmed. Other specifications include 4GB or 6GB of RAM and the SoC on the device will be the MediaTekHelio X30 64-bit deca-core processor. The battery should be a little bigger than 3,000mAh and will feature Android Nougat out of the box. The phone will also feature the company’s own Flyme UI as well. This is the only image of the phone that has been released and from what the image indicates, the phone’s volume rockers and power button all sit on the right side of the phone. The phone could also possibly feature some customization on the E-Ink display and offer some extra functionality apart from just showing information apart from just showing information since it is positioned close towards the edge of the back.
There was a leak of the phone some time ago that showcased the phone with a red back panel. There are also rumors that the phone’s front screen could feature 3D touch for extra functionality. Regarding the cameras, it has been rumored that the smartphone will feature a pair of 12MP cameras on the back. What kind of lenses will be used and the combination of the lenses are yet to be seen. The phone will also come with a multi-functional home key as well. The phone is expected to arrive within the next few weeks, but a date for release has not been officially announced.
