LG’s new 34-inch curved monitor will be a catch for movie lovers and gaming enthusiasts. The wide screen with curved 2560 × 1080 panel supports AMD’s FreeSync technology and has a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz.
The stand out features of the UltraWide LG 34UC79G is the curved panel design and the exceptional refresh rate. It is hard to find high refresh rate curved displays with Acer’s Predator Z35 or ASUS’ ROG Swift PG348Q. LG’s new panel offers AH-IPS with resolution of 2560 × 1080, a 5ms gray to gray (GtG) response time, a peak brightness of 300nits and a contrast ratio of 1000:1.
The LG 34UC79G monitor offers wide viewing angles of 178°/178° horizontal/vertical and has a pixel pitch of 0.312 mm. The monitor has a curvature of 3800R, anti-glare, DisplayPort 1.2 HDMI, 2-port USB hub with 3.0 hub, two USB-A receptacles with one supporting fast charging and 7W × 2 audio in/out ports.
The high refresh rate and resolution makes the monitor a good choice for ultimate gaming. To connect LG’s 34UC79G to PC, you can use HDMI or one of the two DisplayPort 1.2a connectors. The dual USB 3’0 ports enable connection of mouse and keyboard. The two integrated 7W speakers with MaxxAudio surround technology are useful for those without space for speakers.
The 1ms Motion Blur Reduction provides improved gaming experience with blurring and ghosting reduced for smoother action.
“With tablets and smartphones at their disposal, consumers today don’t feel shackled to their desks anymore so it’s more important than ever that their monitors offer additional user benefits and conveniences,” says Brian Kwon, president of LG Home Entertainment Company.
The LG 34UC79G gaming monitor will go on sale in October.
