LG is bringing a series of K-branded phones in 2017. On Thursday, the Korean conglomerate made public the devices that it will be showcasing at upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The K series models include K3, K4, K8 and K10.
To start with, the entry level devices K3 (2017) and K4 (2017) are powered by Snapdragon 210 processor and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The K3 will have a 4.5-inch screen with FWVGA display resolution, 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera, with battery being 2,100 mAh. K4 on the other hand will have a 5-inch screen, 5MP rear and front camera, all backed by a 2,500 mAh battery.
Towards the K8 (2017), you have a 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 425 chipset, 1.5GB/16GB memory and 13MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter. The camera sensors also boast of LG’s intelligent UX features such as Auto Shot and Gesture Shot for selfies.
The K10, meanwhile, sports a 5.3-inch HD display and is powered by Mediatek’s MT6750 SoC, paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. The camera configuration is the same as K8. Both the devices will also be backed by a 2,500mAh battery.
Besides the K series models, LG also announced the Stylo 3 (Stylus 3) which it will be introducing during the CES in Las Vegas. The device will have a built-in stylus pen and will run on latest Android 7.0 OS.
For other highlights, you have a 5.7-inch HD display, Mediatek’s MT6750 SoC, 3GB RAM and 16GB storage. For pictures, there is an 13MP rear camera and 8MP shooter in the front.
The Stylo 3 also features the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system, a fingerprint scanner and enhanced UX Pen Pop 2.0.
There is no announcement yet on the availability and pricing. But you can expect the entry level K series to be quite economical, while the Stylo 3 to be priced slightly higher.
“What’s consistent in all our K Series and Stylus 3 devices is that they look and feel premium, offer replaceable batteries and all come with expandable memory slots – what customers consider key factors when buying smartphones in this category,” said Juno Cho, president of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
