LG’s upcoming phablet V30 is confirmed to feature a six-inch OLED panel. Without specifying the model, LG said its next flagship will have a FullVision display and thinner bezels.
President of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company Juno Cho in a statement said the firm is in the midst of fierce global competition and it was the “right time to reintroduce OLED displays in our mobile products”.

The LG V30 though will have a larger screen than the V20 that saw a 5.7-inch screen, in the upcoming version the body will be smaller owing to the 18:9 aspect ratio found on the FullVision display. The OLED display will have a QHD+ 1440×2880 pixels resolution.
To recall the last time LG included an OLED, it was the G Flex 2 it launched in 2015. The Next Web notes that this time around the focus isn’t on bending the device, but on delivering more accurate colors an faster response time than LCD.
An outline sketch of the LG V30 that leaked recently suggests a bezel-less design sans a home button but with dual camera setup on the back. There were rumors of LG fitting a secondary display on the V30, but it appears that might be shelved for a “floating bar”.
As for other specs, there are whispers over a Snapdragon 835 chipset and three storage variants (32GB, 64GB and 129GB). A 3,200mAh battery may also be fitted in the device.
The LG V30 is expected to be made official on August 31. Pre-orders in the US should begin on September 1.
