LG Q6, Q6+ and Q6α announced: Here are the specs, features

South Korean electronics giant LG has just unveiled three mid-range Q-series devices in the form of LG Q6, Q6+ and Q6α. As was reported earlier, LG has not named the devices LG G6 Mini, and all the latest come with FullVision display.

To begin with, the new Q6 devices sport a design a similar to that seen on LG’s widely accepted G6. All three models pack a 5.5-inch display (1080x2160p resolution) with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The smartphones are all powered by a Snapdragon 635 processor and run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. They even have the same 3,000 mAh battery setup.

However, in terms of RAM, the LG Q6 has a 3GB RAM, while the Q6+ comes with 4GB RAM and the last Q6α features a 2GB RAM. The devices also have different storage, with the Q6 packing 32GB, the Q6+ with 64GB and Q6α with 16GB storage.

Though the pricing of the devices are yet to be announced, you can get an idea of the range from the RAM and storage variants. While the Q6 will be the most expensive, the Q6α will be the cheapest in the lot.

For pictures, the devices boast a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera with wide-angle lens. When compared with the LG G6, the only compromise is the dual rear camera setup. If you recall, the G6 launched with two 13MP primary cameras.

LG has announced that the LG Q6, Q6+ and Q6α will sell in Astro Black and Ice Platinum colors. Each of the devices will also have one or two exclusive color variants.

As for availability, LG said the device will hit retail stores starting August. Consumers in Asia would get to try it first before those in Europe, North America and other markets.
