The coming week LG will be launching four new devices falling under its K series in India.
On Wednesday, February 22, LG India Managing Director Ki Wan Kim will unveil the 2017 versions of K3, K4, K8 and K10, in the presence of Indian IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. The mid-range smartphones will carry the ‘Made in India’ tag and see features that typically are reserved for high-end smartphones.
The K10 (2017) is arguably the star of the lot with specs that include a 5.3-inch (1280×720) 2.5D curved IPS display, octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage (expandable up to 2TB). The device, equipped with a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, will run on Android 7.0 Nougat, backed by a 2800 mAh battery.
Right below the K10 is the K8 (2017) that has a 5-inch HD (1280×720) display, powered by a 1.4Ghz quad-core processor and 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB expandable storage. This as well will have the same camera set up of K10 and will even run on Android 7.0 Nougat. However, the battery will be a smaller 2500 mAh.
Towards the K4 (2017), you have a 5-inch FWVGA (480×854) display, 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor and 1GB RAM with 8GB expandable storage. For pictures, there will be 5MP rear and front cameras. It will run on older Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will be armed with a 2500 mAh battery.
The lowest in the series will be the K3 (2017), an entry-level phone with a smaller 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854) display and 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor.
Under the hood, it will include a 1GB RAM and 8GB expandable storage. There will be a 5MP rear camera and 2MP front facing too. It draws power from a 2100 mAh battery and will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. All the devices will support 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
As for pricing and availability, more details should be made public after the Tuesday launch.
