LG G6 release date: Pre-orders begin in South Korea, release set for March 10

LG’s gorgeous new flagship smartphone that was unveiled recently at the MWC in Barcelona will be entering the home market next week. Pre-orders for the LG G6 is currently on in South Korea.

While mobile enthusiasts in the US are eagerly waiting for LG to announce the release date of the flagship, the Korean company is expected to release the handset in South Korea on March 10.

According to sources, the LG G6 is priced at 899,800 won ($780) in South Korea. There are also freebies worth $400 that could make it an attractive alternative.

Customers who are pre-ordering the LG G6 will receive an original case, a one year screen replacement service, LG’s Tone Platinum HBS-1100 Bluetooth neckbuds and Rolly Keyboard 2 Bluetooth keyboard.

The LG G6 features a 5.7-inch QHD + ‘Full-Vision’ display (2880 × 1440 pixels resolution) with a unique 18:9 aspect ratio, a dual camera setup with two 13-megapixel sensors and a battery bigger than 3,300mAh.

It sports a minimalistic design and offers dust and water resistance. The spec sheet also includes a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage. It will run Android Nougat customised with LG’s own user interface called UX 6.0.

Meanwhile, for those in Europe, a recent leak revealed the price tag, but we dont have a release date. The LG G6 was listed by an online Romanian retailer for the price of RON 3,200 (€700), as reported by GSMArena.

Once the device releases in South Korea, we will have more clarity on when LG will bring the device to other markets. The G6 comes with Google Assistant, which makes it the first non-Google phone to get the Assistant.
