The LG G6 is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress that will go from February 27 to March 2. Several smartphone makers, including Korean giants Samsung and LG will be competing with each other.

According to ET New, LG will release its G6 flagship on March 10. That translates to just two weeks after the announcement. Galaxy S8 will not release until April. Considering the recent Note 7 fiasco, the manufacturer seems to be extra careful this time to offer best-in-class safety and quality

To recall, Samsung released its Galaxy S7 and S7 edge first on March 11. The G5 arrived later on March 31.

The LG G6 meanwhile will come with a new 5.7-inch LCD with aspect ratio of 18:9 and a QHD+ resolution. The display will have a 1,440 x 2,880 pixels with a display density of 564ppi. LG claims it will lead to the device consuming 30 percent less power than the G5.

“QHD+ is expected to maximize users’ experience and value by providing ultra-high definition, differentiating from all other mobile display panels,” Kim Byung-koo, executive director, mobile division, LG Display, said in the launch press release

The G6, which will fully ditch the modular design found on the G5, could be equipped with the recently launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. Much on the specs and features are not made public yet. Stay tuned to Gadgets Post for more updates.
