LG today launched a new K series phone in India. The LG K10 (2017) is priced at Rs 13,990 ($208) and comes with a panic button as well as support for local languages.
An upgrade of last year’s K10 (2016), the K10 (2017) was officially announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. Other devices that are part of the K series include K3 (2017), K4 (2017) and K8 (2017).
The K10 boasts a 5.3-inch HD In-cell Touch display with 2.5D Arc Glass design. Under the hood, there is a 1.5 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750 processor with Mali T860 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 2TB).
The phone comes in three flavors – Black, Gold and Titanium. For pictures, there is a front snapper of 5MP with 120 degrees wide angle lens. At the rear, you have a 13MP camera. It will run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. And for power, the device is armed with a 2,800 mAh battery with fast charging support.
Among other highlights is the panic button which is activated when a user presses the power button thrice. It automatically initiates the 112 emergency call. Additionally, the device will support 9 regional languages.
Out of all the 2017 K series models, LG has only introduced the K10 in India. It is to be seen if other models as well will follow suit.
To recall the specs and features, the K3 (2017) is the smallest with a 4.5-inch screen, 5MP/2MP cameras and 2,100 mAh battery. The K4 (2017) had a bigger 4.7-inch display and 8MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter, with the battery being 2,500 mAh. The L8 (2017) on the other hand had a decent 5-inch HD display, 13MP/5MP cameras and 2,500 mAh battery.
