Lenovo Miix 720 is a strong Surface Pro 4 contender

Lenovo is a serious contender in the hybrid tablet field. The company is expected to soon release the IdeaPad Miix 720, a lookalike of Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 that was launched last year.

This is not the first time Lenovo is matching up Microsoft’s hybrid tablet. Just recently it brought out the Miix 510 that was close in both specs and design. You can expect the same with the new Miix 720.

Reports speculate the 2-in-1 to feature latest Intel Kaby lake CPU in Core i3, i5 or i7 options along with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. The base model could sport a 12-inch display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

Add to that USB 3.0, 2.0 and USB Type C ports, foldable keyboard with backlighting and a 5,319 mAh battery. A Firstpost report said the rumoured device seems to be as good and in some ways better than the Surface Pro 4.

Miix 720 could come with its own stylus with 2048 pressure levels as well as an iris scanner for unlocking the device. Pricing is expected to start at $1100.

And if you favor Microsoft, then it might be the right time to purchase a Surface Pro 4. The hybrid tablet with Intel Core m3 processor and 4GB RAM is on sale for $749 instead of $899 at Microsoft’s online store.

Meanwhile, there are rumors of Microsoft working on Surface Pro 5 for spring 2017 release. Reports state the Surface Pro 5 could release with 4K display, USB-C support and Kaby Lake processors from Intel.
