The iconic photography brand Kodak is planning release of its second smartphone mid-October.
On Twitter, Kodak teased the upcoming smartphone, showing just a button with Kodak brand. It also mentions the date of release as October 20.
Not much details on the specifications and features are out yet. It is also not clear if mobile device manufacturer Bullitt is involved in the assembly.
Kodak’s last smartphone, the IM5, was manufactured by Bullitt, which is also behind rugged JCB and CAT-branded phones.
Released in January 2015, the IM5, Kodak said is for “consumers who appreciate the value and heritage of the Kodak brand”.
The mid-range device had decent specs with 5-inch display, an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB expandable internal storage.
On the camera front, it had 13MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter for selfies.
The device, without question was an attempt to capitalize on the popularity Kodak enjoyed around the world. We will have to wait a little longer to find out what is in store.
