iPhone 8 rumors: Renders show white color variant, may not come with in-screen fingerprint sensor

There has been no shortage of iPhone 8 rumors cropping up online despite being a few months away from the official release of the phone. This time around, the new leaks come in the form of digital renders of a supposed white variant of the iPhone 8.

The new render is based upon the previous leaks of the iPhone 8, including the recent dummy piece, whose video popped up, complete with a 360-degree view. Considering the latest leak, prominent Apple Analyst from KGI, Ming-Chi Kuo had some sad news for anticipating fans as well, noting that the new iPhone will probably not come with the in-screen fingerprint sensor as was suspected, since it was believed that Qualcomm, the supplier of the fingerprint sensor, was not yet ready to ship the modules. Having said that, it is not confirmed whether this will be the case until the eventual arrival of the phone, as the renders do show no space on the phone for where there would be a fingerprint sensor placed.

What has been confirmed in an official report however, is that the iPhone 8 will feature a bezel-less display which will consist of OLED technology and will consist of 5.2-inches of usable real-estate, with the entire display being 5.8-inches in total size. Much like the OnePlus 5, the new iPhone is also said to come in limited colour options as well. Kuo also predicts that the iPhone 8 will come in only 64GB and 256GB storage options. The three new models being released this year will also come with Lightning ports with USB Type-C power deliver circuit for faster charging speeds. The KGI analyst also suspects that the phones will release in September of this year with the iPhone 8 availability only starting at the beginning of next year, owing to time constraints.

As for the white renders of the iPhone 8, the renders are only meant to give an idea to fans about what the phone will look like in white. The renders, however, feature a few new camera modules on the front, hinting that the phone may have the iSight camera for facial recognition. While the renders are not meant to be final versions of the iPhone, it just provides an idea as to what buyers can expect.

These renders do not mean that Apple will officially make a white color variant for the iPhone 8, but it will be able to give buyers and fans alike, a reason to petition for one to be made by the company, as the renders have already been widely circulated around the internet and have gained popularity online. The renders were created by noted designer Martin Hejek who has made iPhone renders before.
