iPhone 8 news: Apple is mass producing 80mn units of AMOLED panels

Apple is currently readying up for a mass supply of its three new phones, the iPhone 7s, 7s Plus and iPhone 8. The company is looking to secure early gains in manufacturing stock to keep up with the demand. The company is also looking to keep delays to a minimum, owing to reports of the company’s latency in bringing about the iPhone 8, which some had previously speculated to be revealed at this year’s WWDC.

The two new ‘s’ variants of the iPhone 7 will feature reinforced glass chassis with aluminium frame. Apple’s up stream supply chain have already begun producing the modules for the new iPhone 7s and 7s Plus along with the iPhone 8, which is set to set itself apart from its siblings in terms of display technology and build. It has also been speculated that in terms of pricing, Apple will want to keep the costs of the new updated iPhone 7 handsets in the same level as when the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus had released, since the new iPhone 8 will be significantly more expensive. Mass production activities had already commenced earlier this week, which means Apple is in a hurry to release its products on time.

Ubergizmo reports that the AMOLED panel for the iPhone 8 will be produced by Samsung and more than 80 million display units are supposedly going to be supplied. Of course, it means that Apple is betting on selling 80 million units when it does release its new flagship. For mass production to begin now, the launch of the new phones will be expected to come around September, with Apple anticipating anywhere between 25-30 million units being shipped throughout the world.   There are still doubts lingering about whether Apple will still release the new iPhone 8 or not, since there has been very little chatter from the company’s side regarding the anniversary edition of the iPhone.

Whether the iPhone 8 may or may not be delayed, the overflow of design rumors regarding the iPhone 8 cannot be underestimated. All the three phones going to be released are expected to have glass chassis and aluminium frame, making the three almost indistinguishable, save for the iPhone 8 whose screen will be the biggest indicator of its status. The iPhone 8’s display is said to cover the entirety of the phone’s front side with a button below the layer of screen, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8. While nothing is confirmed, a Fall release is the only information that is assured.
