iPhone 8 expected for September launch, to sell limited units with price of $1,100

If this new report is anything to go buy, the next iPhone might probably be the most expensive phone on the market. The reports about the cost and release of the new iPhone have been released by JP Morgan analyst Rod Hall, and if true, could mark a turning point for the Apple iPhone brand.

The report claims that the new iPhone 8 is set to hit shelves as soon as September, when it was earlier speculated that owing to making the phone as perfect as possible, the deadline for the release date of the phone could have been pushed to as far back as October. The report from JP Morgan also states that Apple might initially just sell a limited amount of the iPhone 8 to consumers and pick up the pace in manufacture in the coming months to achieve the appropriate target output levels. The company is pegged to sell about 42.2 million iPhone units during the upcoming September quarter and once the supply meets the demand, spikes in sales will be imminent.

Apple Insider says that by the end of September, Apple will have 9 million units ready for sale at launch by the end of September, supposedly, which will be shifting the forecast for sales accordingly. While none of what the report says can be confirmed or proven, the figures merely indicate a trend that has been based of past experiences with sales of the iPhone.

With the anniversary edition of the iPhone coming out along with two other ‘s’ versions of the iPhone 7, the sales will be segregated between the cheaper siblings and the flagship, also splitting the sales revenue accordingly. Some of the issues that could be the case for the iPhone 8 reducing the number of selling units in the initial month, can be the Touch ID placement which will be shifting over to the phone’s power button, and also the OLED screens that will make their debut on an iPhone this year.

As far as the pricing is concerned, expectation for the average selling price is at $1,100 owing to the cost of production being higher than first anticipated. Initially, the iPhone 8 was not expected to come out early at all and was speculated of being unfinished to debut with the 7s and 7s Plus. Now, seeing as it will be releasing much sooner, doting buyers will be looking into applying for a loan or taking out a mortgage to be ready for purchasing the next iPhone.
