Word going round is that Apple will reveal its next generation smartphone in September this year. Apple has a tendency of launching smartphones in two years cycles. A numbered iPhone model is always followed by an upgraded “S” version and with the iPhone 6S model already out in the market, the iPhone 7 is just what everyone is waiting for.
Rumors going on for months is that there will be major upgrades but a consistent pattern among most speculations is that iPhone 7 won’t be too much different from iPhone 6S. Leaked dummy handset of the yet-to-be-released iPhone 7 show the design display size as being similar to that of the iPhone 6 with a screen display of 4.7 inches. The “S” version of iPhone 7 is likely to sport a 5.5 inch display if the dummy handsets are anything to go by.
The greatest difference between iPhone 7 and its predecessors is likely to be the camera which is tipped to be to be dual-camera housed in a pill-shape. In Addition, the camera is tipped to be placed more towards the corner.
The most controversial rumor about iPhone 7 is that the smartphone will not have a headphone jack but rather, Apple is likely to use the space occupied by the headphone jack for alternative hardware upgrades. If this is the case, iPhone users will have the option of using the Lightning port for headphones or switch to Bluetooth pairing.
Apple has already revealed that it will be unveiling the iOS 10 in the course of the year. This announcement was seen as alluding that iOS 10 is the software that will be used in iPhone 7. There are also numerous rumors about wireless charging where iPhone 7 is tipped to adopt the technology of wireless charging. It is also expected that iPhone 7 will be waterproof in order for the smartphone to match giant rival Samsung’s Galaxy 7 model.
