Intex Aqua S2 launched: A budget phone with fingerprint scanner

While a slew of budget-friendly phones were recently released in India, Intex Aqua S2 will be tad different from them. It is the cheapest smartphone in the market with fingerprint scanner.

On Thursday, Intex launched the Android phone with a price tag of Rs 4,490 ($68). The Aqua series has been a successful line with a dozen or more phones sporting different features and for a price that’s hard to beat.

The latest Aqua S2 is powered by quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731C processor and paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage (expandable up to 32GB). The 5-inch display phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

The phone is backed by a decent 2450 mAh Li-ion battery that boasts a talk time of 5 hours and standby time of 110 hours. The highlight without question is the fingerprint scanner and smart gestures which Intex says is a treat for smartphone lovers.

The camera however is a little on the lower side, with just 5MP on the rear and 5MP on front. Comparatively, you have camera with more power for a similar price range.

As for connectivity options, you can find Bluetooth v2.1+EDR, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, GPS/AGPS, FM Radio and USB. The Aqua S2 is sold in three colors – Champagne, White and Grey.
