Immotor Go: This electric scooter is smarter than a Tesla

Mophie, co-founded by Daniel Huang has come up with a pretty cool way to navigate around traffic. As part of Immotor, a separate entity from Mophie, Daniel’s first order of business was to make something familiar, but still new – so his team made the Immotor Go.

Immotor Go comes with GPS tracking, digital accelerator and brake controls

The Immotor Go is a battery powered scooter for personal transportation, mostly around urban landscapes. On a single charge, it can run as far as 30km. But this will just be an addition to the already saturated market of personal transporters that are electric-powered. But apart from the electric cycles and hoverboards that are in mass abundance, this scooter claims to be different from the crowd.

The Go will be receiving software updates periodically for future upgrades. It’ll also pack a GPS that’s quite smart. Device tracking will also be one of its features, as well as cruise control. If this doesn’t sound like a Tesla-scooter, then it should really be an undertaking that Tesla should consider. The scooter can also follow the user around autonomously. We’re not sure why that would be a feature that would cause any convenience, since carrying it would be a better alternative than wasting its battery, but it does sound pretty cool.

The battery inside the Go brings a little more than what we’re used to seeing on normal batteries. It’s a smart battery for one, meaning that it has its own OS to monitor and control the battery cells for efficient usage. Another perk of this battery pack is that it can be used to charge laptops and cell phones. It’ll need the adapters though, but this is a much-needed feature that will be appreciated by many. The battery pack also won’t explode even if it is punctured.

There are two slots to insert battery cells in the scooter – both for 99W cells. The scooter will have two modes – one for boosting the range of travel, while the second mode is for providing extra power to the scooter while carrying heavier loads. There’s a USB port on the handlebar in case some of us millennials find the need to charge our phones. The scooter is so smart, that there’s a button on the handle to activate the user’s smartphone camera to snap images mid-ride.

If the above statements didn’t make it seem like the Go was a very safe scooter already, the company has also installed an always-on link to the customer service department in case there are any technical snags during the commute.

In order to grab one of these, one would have to go to Indiegogo and pledge for this project. For early birds, the price will be a mere $399 and those who miss the opportunity will have to shell out $599. And that will fetch the user one 99W battery cell and an AC adapter. The price does seem very tempting. And it’s perhaps the smartest personal transportation device we’ve seen yet!

Are you listening, Tesla?
