IFA 2017: Hot releases to expect at the technology show

After the CES, the IFA is the most anticipated show of the year and as the year is nearing its end, the inevitable launch of new devices also approaches. Kicking off at the end of August, we will witness the regular release of smart speakers, high-end televisions and wearables, here are the top four announcements that are expected to be made at the event.

LG V30
The highly anticipated follow up to the V20 is expected to launch at the IFA this year and LG will be pulling out all the stops to make their newest flagship the most desirable of them all. Most importantly, the company will be the secondary screen from the device and will mostly likely stick to what the LG G6 was fitted with – an edge-to-edge 18:9 OLED panel with near bezel-less form, dual rear cameras and the works.Eager fans will get to see the launch event on August 31.

Samsung Gear Smartwatches
Samsung will be making waves in the wearables segment with the addition of a couple of new wearable devices – the Gear Fit 2 Pro and the Gear Sport, which are aimed to finally dethrone the FitBit devices known for their high-level activity tracking. While manufacturers like Garmin are also expected to make their own announcements, Samsung’s offerings that will include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS along with slightly new designs that will incorporate an optical heart rate monitor, will be what viewers at the show will be waiting for.

Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality Headsets
While we know that Dell is coming out with its own MR headset that will support Windows, other companies are expected to make announcements on their own AR and VR headsets as well. Lenovo, Asus and HP are supposedly expected to reveal their developed headset designs as well. At least one major mixed reality announcement is expected to be made this year at the IFA. For the early adopters, this will be the place to be.

A Slew of Smart Home Products
There may not be just one smart speaker announced at the IFA, but the possibility of two or more could be the case. Alexa-powered smart speakers, a new smart vacuum cleaner and a few new smart light bulbs may make their way to the floor as well. Philips primarily, will have something to showcase during the event as it always does every year.
