While we know Huawei is expected to release its upcoming flagship on Nov. 3, a new leak has it that there is a variant of the device being readied.
The Venturebeat reported that the; Mate 9 codenamed ‘Manhattan’ will have a big brother, codenamed ‘Long Island’. Though rumors confirmed a larger variant last month, much on the specs and internals were not available to public yet.
The Long Island will be introduced in the market as Mate 9 Pro. The premium device will sport a 5.9-inch display and will be powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC processor with 4GB of RAM, and internal memory starting at 64GB.
The Mate 9 Pro could have a price tag of $1300. It is expected to run Android 7.0 Nougat and have dual lens camera like its sibling. One of the major differences between the two is the flat screen display and the dual edge curved display that Mate 9 Pro could come with.
Both Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro are expected to be released on Nov. 3 in Munich, Germany.
If you are curious of the features on Mate 9, the flagship device is the successor of Mate 8 and comes with top-notch features, including possible connectivity support for 5G.
Huawei Mate 9 is likely to feature a a 5.9-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display and will come with Huawei’s own Kirin 960 octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM. There could be three storage variants – 64GB, 128GB and 256GB and six different colour options.
On the camera front, leaked images show the device will have a dual-camera with Leica branding. Both the phones will have 20MP camera and 4X optical zoom.
The base model of Mate 9 could retail at $480.
