The Mate phablet from Huawei has always made a big impact on the market, offering bug specs that would make phablets like the Samsung Galaxy Note line shy away. The phone-maker has already launched the P10 and the Honor 9 this year, both of which have had successful campaigns going for them so far. The Mate 10 is next up.
According to reports, the Mate 10 flagship from Huawei will be made official on October 16. Huawei will be making an event of it, being held in Munich and it has been speculated that the company will also unveil a smaller Mate 10 Lite to accompany the flagship as well. Even the specifications for the flagship have been somewhat lamented upon by fans who claim that it will be featuring many of the features that this year’s flagships have shown so far.
The phone will be priced at around $1110 while the Lite variant of the phone will cost about $555. The CEO of Huawei had confirmed that the Mate 10 will come with a full-screen bezel-less display with advanced internal specifications as well. The phone is also said to have longer battery life and will also feature faster charging speeds. The phone will also boast better photography that will be able to rival the next iPhone.
Earlier reports did indicate that the phone will come with a 6-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 with 4K resolution. The fingerprint scanner of the phone will also be situated on the front of the phone. Processing power will be handled by the capable Kirin 970 chipset that is said to outperform the Snapdragon 835 and will be competing with next year’s Snapdragon 845.
Display of the phone will be made by JDI Display and the smaller Mate 10 Lite, will feature a 5.8-inch display instead. The launch for the duo comes about the same time as the expected launch of the next iPhone. The Mate 9 already had four variants of itself, so it falls in lines with the company’s practices to release more than one variant for the flagship Mate 10. As far as real-world performance goes, the details have not been delved into just yet. But one thing is for sure – that the phone will feature dual rear and front facing cameras, which is an exciting prospect to look forward to, considering it will be one of the few phones to do so.
