Huawei Mate 10 renders leaked, will likely be as expensive as iPhone 8

The new and up-coming Huawei Mate 10 smartphone has just had its renders leaked. Whether they are real or not may be up for debate, but the accompanying rumored specs of the smartphone are just as impressive as the concept.

The Mate 10 will be a 6.1-inch phablet that will have a bezel-less display with Quad-HD resolution. The phone is rumored to feature a dual-camera setup with Leica lens and optical image stabilization. The fingerprint sensor of the smartphone will be positioned below the camera on the back.

Owing to the bezel-less display, there will not be a home button on the front of the phone. The phone will be featuring a USB Type-C port on the bottom with two speakers, but whether it will come with a headphone jack cannot be ascertained as of now. Huawei has mostly kept its design language and this seems to be a different style adopted which will be a welcome surprise for fans.

According to GSM Arena, the bezel-less design has been confirmed by the company. Apart from the bezel-less design, the phone will also come with the company’s home-brewed Kirin 970 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Android Nougat 7.0 will also be powering the software on the phone. Keeping the phone up and running is a large 4,000mAh battery with fast-charging supported out of the box.

As far as pricing is concerned, the phone is said to cost almost as much as the new iPhone 8 will cost, going over the $1,000 mark. Not only will the phone be one of the company’s most expensive offerings, but it will also be one of the most powerful devices of the year as the Kirin 970 is also the company’s most powerful chipset produced.

The news should be taken with a grain of salt. Even the CEO of Huawei, Richard Yu, has also proclaimed that the Mate 10 is more powerful than the iPhone 8 and will most probably arrive sometime during the month of October. Rumors indicate that the phone’s launch will happen on October 16. The renders show that the phone will come with a brush-metal finish. It seems unlikely that there will be any water-proofing. If Huawei is considering making the phone cost as much as the rumors indicate, it needs to be even more impressive than Apple’s next flagship. Only when Huawei officially releases the Mate 10 in October, we will know for sure to confirm the alleged speculations.
