After having released the Mate flagships of the year, Huawei is back to its pro-active releasing spells. The newest addition to the family is the Nova 2s – a new mid-ranger that offers great specifications and aggressive pricing, with slim bezels.
On the optics front, the phone’s rear cameras come with a 16MP RGB lens and 20MP monochrome combo. They both have an impressive aperture of f/1.8. On the front of the phone also features a dual camera setup, coming with a 20MP main camera and a secondary 2MP one. They both have f/2.0 apertures and are also accompanied by an LED light. Interestingly enough, the front facing cameras are not just for selfies, but are also for face unlocking, which Huawei is quite proud of, which hints at a feature that we might be able to expect for the next flagship Huawei Mate.
Also, the phone comes packing a 3,340mAh battery with support for fast charging. There is also a hybrid dual-SIM card and a headphone jack as well. A welcome addition is the phone featuring Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box, which means that Project Treble could come with the package. All of this will come in at a base price of $400. The phone will also come in a special edition trim called the Yixing Zhang Special Edition that will feature songs and ringtones of the popular Korean entertainer. The standard variants will come in Black, Gray, Red, Rose Gold and Blue. All in all, the phone will do well to bridge the gap between a mid-ranger and flagship offering and comes with impressive specifications to boot at.
