Huawei Honor V9 release date: Official teaser has confirmed for Feb 21

Rumors were rampant on Huawei’s Honor V9 launching soon after it was spotted on TENAA. While there were whispers of a possible launch during the Mobile World Congress, an official teaser has now announced the release date.

The Honor V9 will launch on February 21 at an event in Beijing, China. For now, we know the device is releasing in China, no details on the global availability is known as yet. Huawei’s decision to release earlier than the MWC is a bold move given the number of devices that will be unveiled at the MWC in Barcelona.

Specs on Honor V9

Recently, the Honor V9 surfaced on the TENNA database confirming many of the specs that were rumored earlier. The dual-SIM Android phone will pack a 5.7-inch display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and comes with an octa-core 2.4GHz processor (should be Kirin 960).

For photography, the device will have a dual camera setup with 12MP and 2MP on the back. For selfies, there should be a 8MP front snapper. Apparently, there will be two RAM and storage options – 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage.

The Huawei Honor V9 succeeds the Honor V8 that the company launched in 2016. The older V8 had the same 5.7-inch screen, a Kirin 950 chipset, 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. For pictures, it came with a 12MP rear camera and 8MP front shooter.

On the battery front, the Honor V8 had a 3,500 mAh juice pack. But on the new V9, you can expect a beefier 3,900 mAh battery set up. The phone will run on Android 7.0 Nougat with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.0 skin.
