HTC’s new flagship phablet the HTC U Ultra will begin to ship in the US starting tomorrow. Pre-orders are now being taken on the website.
The HTC U Ultra was launched in January 2017. It features a 5.7-inch Quad HD display and a secondary 2-inch screen with a resolution of 160×1040 to show contacts and reminders.
The internals are made up of a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB onboard storage. The phone draws power from a 3,000 mAh battery. As for optics, you have a 12MP UltraPixel 2 sensor on the back and a 16MP unit with a 4MP UltraPixel mode on the front.
Though Thursday would be when general shipments will be rolled out, to pamper the many loyal fans the Taiwanese company has decided to ship some orders two days in advance.
“Happy to report that HTC U Ultra pre-orders are now shipping. General shipments begin this Thursday. Taking care of our fans first,” HTC USA announced in a tweet on March 8.
HTC U Ultra is priced at $749 and can be ordered in three color variants – Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Black, and Ice White. As it will be a GSM unlocked device, it should work on AT&T and T-Mobile. Verizon and Sprint customers however will not benefit from the unlocked version.
The device comes with Android Nougat out of the box. HTC is promising buyers a a high-quality headphones along with a one-time replacement for damaged screens.
