Not a day goes by when there is no new leak appearing for any new upcoming handset that is about to release. The latest victim is the HTC One X10, which was leaked via a poster image.

The infamous Evleaks had revealed the poster on Twitter, showing what HTC’s advertising slogan claims is a device where “big style meets bigger battery”. Of course, this means that HTC is working on a phone that will have enough juice to last for at least more than a day. From the reveal of the phone, the handset itself looks like a generic design that we have all come across from HTC. It looks like the original HTC One from the back, but with an included fingerprint sensor.
The phone will be on the lower-powered spectrum in terms of processing power, but will use its prowess in battery-power to stand apart from the pack. The phone could also be a spiritual successor to the Desire 10 from last year. Reports state the One X10 was supposed to have been launched in January of 2017, but that did not work out for HTC, apparently. Suggested specs that reside within the handset could be a 5.5-inch FHD display, and internally, the processor managing all the work would be the cheap but capable MediaTekHelio P10 processor. The phone may also come in 3GB of RAM with a 16MP rear-facing snapper coupled with Optical Image Stabilization. Storage is also pegged at 32GB on-board and most probably should be expandable. The battery capacity, is cited to be a 4,000mAh unit which should make it great for power users.
It does put to light on HTC’s current strategy with unveiling the rest of its 2017 line-up. HTC will be launching the new flagship called the HTC U or lovingly called ‘Ocean’ sometime later in the year with a revolutionary new Edge Sense technology. Whether HTC will be making the X10 a sort of companion to the release of the HTC U or as a precursor to the flagship, we will have to wait and see. If HTC does eventually release the X10, they will have to be content with the Moto G5 and G5 Plus, which offer amazing features and battery and are already priced at a very competitive rate.
Considering HTC’s X10 being made of metal, we can probably place the handset somewhere in the premium mid-range segment. But if HTC can promise better updates and performance than its lacklustre offering as it did the last time, they might have something worth selling. HTC used to make good phones before and the HTC One was one of the best offerings that put the likes of Samsung and even the Nexus phones to shame. Let’s hope the company can find a way to redeem itself.
