Gionee S10 ups the ante with four cameras, three variants

Joining the fray of the dual-camera enabled army of phones from the Chinese market is Gionee, with the launch of their new S10, which comes with dual cameras on both the front and the back of the phone. This makes the company the first ever in the market to introduce dual cameras on the front and the back of a phone.

The phone will come in three different variants – the S10, S10B and S10C. A successor to the Gionee S9, the S10 along with the S10C will be made available in China starting June 9. The S10B, on the other hand, will be available from today. Regarding the optics of the S10, the rear end will feature a setup consisting of a 16MP+8MP configuration, while the front-facing cameras are composed of 20MP+8MP cameras. The rear camera is unique in that it offers a 6P lens with an f/1.8 aperture.

The S10B will feature a 13MP+5MP configuration on the back with single 16MP sensor on the front. The S10C will act as the base variant of the trio, featuring a single 16MP camera on the rear and a 13MP sensor on the front. Even the hardware internally among the three phones is different to each other.

Gionee S10 will feature the MediaTekHelio P25 chipset octa-core processor with 6GB of RAM. It will also come with a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution that it shares with the S10B as well. The S10B will feature a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset and 4GB of RAM powered by a mighty 3,700mAh battery, while the S10C will feature a modest Snapdragon 427 chipset along with the Adreno 308 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The S10C will feature a 3,100mAh battery to boot.
