Gionee S10 news: Live images leaked, will feature 4 cameras

Gionee has not realty been known to create innovative never-before-seen products in the smartphone segment just yet. But the company was supposedly working on a particular handset that piqued the interest due to its specifications. Now that the phone has been confirmed and rated by TENAA, its details are finally revealed.

The smartphone in question, Gionee S10,will come with a 5.5-inch display at 1080p, an octa-core 2.2GHz processor, Android Nougat with Amigo UI, 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage and expandable up to 128GB via microSD. The phone will also be powered by a massive 3,700mAh battery and will feature a 3.5m audio jack.

Leaks of the phone that were released online showcased an unexpected feature – it comes with four cameras. Two 13MP sensors on the back and a combination of sensors on the front as well, which have not yet been confirmed. But it seems like there will be different variants of the phone as Android Headlines had confirmed a different set of leaks which showed a different camera setup where the front of the phone housed only one selfie camera. This could mean that different versions of the phone could be released, possibly possessing the model names S10C, S10B or S10 Plus, depending on the region or naming methodology.

It can be assumed that as with most of its range of smartphones, Gionee will probably be using one of MediaTek’s processors to run applications on the smartphone and that if there are variants, we can expect a standard size and a size with a larger display. Of course, the phone will land in the very competitive mid-range segment where the company will have to contend with similar-looking and similarly spec’d devices from the likes of Oppo and even ZTE.

The phone will be made of a metal unibody and will come with a fingerprint sensor that will be embedded in the home button on the front of the phone. It has also been confirmed that there will be a black variant of the phone available to users soon as well. The S10 will be launched sometime later in the weeks to come and will be an interesting prospect for those who are looking for a more camera-centric mid-ranger – something a lot of companies nowadays have restricted to keeping for only flagships.
