An upcoming Gionee device was spotted on China’s certification website TENAA. Successor to last year’s Gionee S9, the S10 was spotted in Black and Gold color options.
The TENAA listing fortunately provided the core specifics of the device, accompanied by the images. The Gionee S10 will be a 5.5-inch Full HD display phone with 1920x1080p resolution.
Under the hood, you have an octa-core processor paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (expandable to up to 128GB via microSD card slot).
When the Gionee S9 launched in China last year, the device sported a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass. It was powered by an octa-core MediaTek (MT6755) Helio P10 processor and 4GB RAM.
The metal-clad phone’s USP was the dual rear cameras of 13MP and 5MP. For selfie addicts, there was a 13MP front camera with Gionee’s Selfie flash feature.
Meanwhile, on the Gionee S10, you have the same dual camera set up with 13MP and 5MP sensors. However, the front camera is bumped up from 13MP to 16MP.
The 4G LTE device weighs 176 grams and will be fitted with a 3,700 mAh battery. It will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
Gionee hasnt confirmed the specs or availability of device in China and other regions. The TENAA listing does confirm an imminent launch.
The S9 was launched in November last year. Along with the S9, Gionee also introduced a faster S9T fitted with a processor that clocked at 2GHz. The S9 was priced at CNY 2499 ($362).
