Chinese smartphone maker Gionee launched a new 6-inch display device that falls under the M series. The Gionee M6S Plus has a metal unibody design and comes loaded with features.
To start with the screen, the Gionee M6S Plus has a 6-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080×1920p resolution. It is powered by a Snapdragon 653 processor paired with 6GB RAM. There will be two storage variants – 64GB and 256GB.
Weighing 212 grams, the phone has an incredible 6,020 mAh battery. The 4G LTE phone is also equipped with a 12MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and F/1.9 aperture. On the front, you have an 8MP shooter.
A disappointing feature of the M6S Plus is the older operating system. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Gionee’s Amigo 3.5 UI over the top.
The device will go on sale starting May 2. The 64GB variant is priced at CNY 3,499 ($508), while the bigger version will carry a price tag of CNY 4,299 ($624).
The launch comes just a month after the device was found listed on the TENAA certification site. Gionee soon sent media invites for the launch of the device in China.
M6S Plus follows the other two devices that fall under the M6 lineup , the M6 and M6 Plus. The M6 has a 5.5-inch screen, while the M6 Plus comes with a 6-inch screen.
Both devices are powered by Helio P10 processors. On the battery front, the M6 was fitted with a 5,000 mAh battery, while the M6 Plus came with a 6,020 mAh set-up.
