Galaxy S8 Plus surfaces again on Geekbench, this time with Exynos chip

Just a while back, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus had surfaced on Geekbench. That was for the Snapdragon-based handset. Today again a Galaxy S8 Plus reappeared on the benchmark site, and this is for the Exynos-powered version.

As is already known to the public, Samsung will bring two processor variants for Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chip is likely to be used probably for launch in the US while Exynos 9 Series 8895 chip will be launched in other markets.

The Geekbench listing showed the device with model number SM-G955F and Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The listing, created on March 16, shows the single core and multicore scores of the Exynos 8895 SoC, which appear slightly higher when pitted against the Snapdragon 835 SoC.

The Exynos chip will support Gigabit LTE networks like the Snapdragon 835 and brings improvements which allow up to 27 percent higher performance. The new Exynos 9 Series is said to be the company’s first processor chipset built on the 10-nanometre FinFET process technology.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is all set launch at the company’s Galaxy Unpacked 2017 event on March 29 in New York. The latter will feature a 6.2-inch panel and will be equipped with a beefier 3,500 mAh battery. The device will come with 4GB of RAM in most regions, but China and South Korea will see 6GB of RAM.
