The new Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 2018 editions are not even out yet and we already know what they will be looking like, courtesy of some renders that have been leaked unfortunately, by a case-maker. The renders show off every physical aspect of the phones, showing what customers may like and what they may not as well.
According to a report from Phone Arena, the new leaks by the case maker shows the phones being covered in a plastic protective case which is transparent and shows off what the phone is going to eventually look like. The two phones will share the same design scheme, with the only difference between them being their size. The renders do show that the phones will feature something that is akin to a FullVision display. While this is still yet another leak, it does not confirm entirely much of what the phones will bring to their respective segments.
The recent Geekbench listing of the A7 had revealed that the phone will come with a 14nm octa-core Exynos 7885 chipset, with a Mali-G71 GPU and 6GB of RAM. We aren’t sure what the A5’s specifications will feature, but it will likely fall in line with the A7’s. In total, the company is expected release for A-series variants either on December this year, or sometime in January next year. The phones will include the Galaxy A3, the Galaxy A5, the Galaxy A7 and the Galaxy A8.
Based on 91 Mobiles’ report, the unfortunate leak happened to case maker Olixar, who is no stranger to having its cases leaked in the past. The leaks do show that that both phones will feature only a single camera sensor on the back of the phone but the fingerprint placement is what the company got right this time around, being now placed just below the camera module. Considering that there will be more screen to body ratio this time around, we can expect the A5 to come with a 5.5-inch display with an FHD+ resolution. It is also supposed to feature an octa-core 7880 Exynos processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable. The specifications should be taken with a pinch of salt however, since none of this information is officially confirmed.
It seems that all the phones will be released with Android Nougat 7.1 but will likely get the Oreo update in a couple months’ time after they release. It seems that the phones will all be showcased at next year’s CES.
