It is official. The fidget spinner trend has now gotten out of hand, and onto people’s smartphones. A company known as Fidgetly, which has proclaimed itself to be the premiere fidget spinner company has just made a Bluetooth enabled spinner that can be used for its own smartphone game.
The product is called the FidgtelyCTRL. The app is not so much a game as it is a tracking app. With the companion fidget spinner which is connected to the phone via Bluetooth, the app will track the spin stats of the user by gauging how they spin it. The app will then be able to compare the user’s stats with their friends and help them use the fidget spinner to play games. Thanks to a 360-degree motion controller that is embedded within the fidget spinner, the app is able to make an instrument out of the trending toy.
Other sensors such as an accelerometer and LED lights that tell the user what they see and feel. The user can interact with the games by spinning the toys either clockwise or anti-clockwise. There company is still operating under a niche in the market and is claiming that it is the first kind of product that will hit the mainstream markets, but the concept of virtual fidget spinner apps and the fidget spinner toys already do exist and Fidgetly is simply trying to make the best of both worlds, albeit in a manner that is unconventional. The company also claims that the spinner has passed FCC and toy certification and is powered by batteries. Other forms of similar kinds of stand-alone fidget spinners have seen problems where they have exploded on occasion.
The interactive app also provides a leader board for the skills being utilized by the users and there are badges as well as achievements to be unlocked within the app. The entire set including the app costs $39.99 and will be available in major retail stores across the US. It is a hefty price-tag attached, but for the current generation that is attached to the recent trend of fidget spinners, it seems like an appealing proposition for those who have taken a fondness for the novelty toy. According to the promotional material, there are three colors offered for the fidget spinners. They are blue, green and pink.
